1918 E. A. Couturier Bb/A Cornet

This Cornet was made by Ernst Albert Couturier, likely in early 1918.

It appears that someone modified the main tuning slide and made it longer, presumably to comply with modern tuning perfomance practice.

There are no obvious signs of other major repairs.

The Bb/A change rotor is tight as it should be, however, the pistons have very poor compression, and are beyond the point where thick valve oil can mask it.  In order to be properly playable this instrument would need a valve rebuild.

otherwise the condition is good, there doesnt appear to be any corrosion or pitting on the insides of the valve casings, and there are no dents

If desired, we can facilitate a valve rebuild at the time of purchase.
